STAY A WHILE SLEEPING CARRIAGES

Rebuilt to modern standards with heating and insulation enabling all year round occupancy, the ex-LNER teak Corridor Carriages provide compartments with double bed and ensuite wc/bath or twin beds with wc/basin. Combined units interconnect to accommodate families. Alternatively a day lounge can be arranged. Each suite has personal tea and coffee making facilities.

Recreating the ambience of "The Golden Age of Railway Travel", carriage parts and seats with restored wood trim are all incorporated.

In their heyday carriages nos 3132/1459 ran on Anglo-Scottish East Coast Services such as the world famous Flying Scotsman train. They were built 1931/34 to Sir Nigel Gresley's design under the auspices of Oliver V. Bulleid who later found fame as the Chief Mechanical Engineer of the Southern Railway - itself the former company owning Bere Ferrers Station.

TARIFF

Our basic charges are:
Bed & Breakfast - £25.00 per person per night.
B & B and 4/5 course evening dinner - £35.00 per person per night
when the Dining Car is open, appropriate reductions for children,
Self Catering Carriage Suite - £20.00 per person per night, with double bed, en suite, lounge/diner, galley.

There are discounts for weekly stays and we are happy to discuss a combination of B&B + evening meal.
